    Summary

    Fast-track to a management role. You'll learn through real-world scenarios and by working with real companies. Build the problem-solving tool-set needed to be a manager. You'll do an industry project towards the end of your course so you'll graduate work-ready and be able to make an immediate contribution to a business.

    You can also complete a double major.

    Programme structure

    In the first stage of the degree, you’ll study core papers that will give you an overview of business.

    You’ll then specialise by doing five papers for your chosen major, and a further five elective papers you choose from any of the areas. If you’re doing two majors, you’ll have five compulsory papers for each major.

    You’ll finish the programme by doing a collaborative industry project.

    Accounting:

    Help create and implement financial strategies.

    Event Management:

    Create and manage successful events. Develop skills to ensure that entertainment, conferences and marketing events run smoothly.

    Hospitality Management:

    Learn how to manage hotels, restaurants, tourist attractions, cruise ships and more.

    Human Resources Management:

    New Zealand business has a constant need for qualified human resource managers. You’ll be responsible for an organisation’s workforce.

    Sales and Marketing:

    Focus on the promotion and sale of goods and services. Learn about consumer behaviour, marketing management, international marketing.

    Strategic Management:

    Support major initiatives taken by senior management. Provide analysis and advice.

    Entry criteria

    • NCEA Level 3, with at least 14 credits in each of three subjects
    • Literacy- 10 credits at Level 2 or above, made up of 5 credits in reading and 5 credits in writing
    • Numeracy- 10 numeracy credits at Level 1 or above
    • Or achieved a Level 4 or 5 qualification in a related field

    English language requirements:

    IELTS score of 6.0 overall with no sub score less than 5.5; TOEFL Internet-Based Test (iBT) score of 60 (with a writing score of 20); Cambridge English Test - FCE with a pass at Grade B; Pearson Test of English (Academic) - PToE (Academic) score of 50; New Zealand Certificate in English Language (NZCEL) - Level 4 with the Academic endorsement.
