Summary

This programme is suitable for students with an undergraduate qualification who would like to increase their knowledge of a particular area of management and wish to take a slightly shorter programme than a master’s degree.

Gain the skills to develop and manage an organisation's most valuable asset - its people. This subject is concerned with getting the right people into the right jobs; and knowing how to keep and develop them and advance their careers. HR managers have a strategic role in an organisation because they deal with recruitment, selection, promotion, compensation and benefits, contract negotiation, training, health and safety, and performance appraisal. By studying Human Resource Management, you will acquire people management skills to help you better understand your workmates and employees, and effectively manage your future staff.

Entry criteria

A recognized bachelor’s degree with a B/B+ grade average. You must also have a major in the relevant subject area with a B/B+ grade average.

English language requirements:

IELTS - 6.5 overall (no less than 6.0 in writing); iBT (internet based TOFEL) - 90 with a score of 22 in writing; Pearson PTE Academic- 65 with English language requirements no less than 58 for each communicative skill; From Waikato Pathways College - Successful completion of Level 8 with a B grade average in the Certificate of Attainment in Academic (CAAE) programme.
