Summary

Lead the team on a building site. Develop an understanding of construction planning and project management. You’ll coordinate people and resources to make sure projects are completed on time and to budget.

What you will learn

• Interpret survey requirements for the set-out of a commercial building
• Learn to measure and manage quantities of resources
• Develop your understanding of bidding for construction projects

Recognised qualification

This qualification meets the academic requirements of the New Zealand Institute of Clerks of Works and the New Zealand Institute of Building.

Entry criteria

• 50 credits at NCEA Level 2 or above, with at least 12 credits in each of English, Maths and Science subjects
• Or achieved a level 3 or 4 qualification in a related field
• Or equivalent experience of an appropriate kind

English language requirements:

IELTS score of 6.0 overall with no sub score less than 5.5; TOEFL Internet-Based Test (iBT) score of 60 (with a writing score of 20); Cambridge English Test - FCE with a pass at Grade B; Pearson Test of English (Academic) - PToE (Academic) score of 50; New Zealand Certificate in English Language (NZCEL) - Level 4 with the Academic endorsement.
