Summary

Start your career as an architectural designer or draughts person. Develop your technical drawing skills using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Understand architecture, building methods and materials, and building code requirements. Build a portfolio. Create architectural plans and documentation for buildings across New Zealand.

Entry criteria

• 50 credits at NCEA Level 2 or above, with 12 credits in each of the following: Math’s, English and Science subjects
• Or achieved a level 3 or 4 qualification in a related field
• Or have equivalent practical, professional, or educational experience

English language requirements:

IELTS score of 6.0 overall with no sub score less than 5.5; TOEFL Internet-Based Test (iBT) score of 60 (with a writing score of 20); Cambridge English Test - FCE with a pass at Grade B; Pearson Test of English (Academic) - PToE (Academic) score of 50; New Zealand Certificate in English Language (NZCEL) - Level 4 with the Academic endorsement.
