Summary
This ICT course will provide you with skills and experience with a wide range of industry leading digital tools and technologies and also provides automatic entry into UCOL’s New Zealand Certificate in IT Essentials.
You will learn how to use digital tools to present information, create websites, apply security techniques, design and generate infographics, and use a visual programming language to produce interactive games and media.
This programme has a practical, hands-on focus which allows students to bring their skills together and showcase their strengths in collaborative, team-based ICT projects.
The New Zealand Certificate in Computing is available for online study via TANZ eCampus. There are monthly intakes.

Accreditation
The programme is approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority under section 249 of the Education Act 1989, and Universal College of Learning (UCOL) Trading as Universal College of Learning (UCOL) is accredited to provide it under section 250 of the Act.
Entry criteria
NCEA Level 1 (including 10 Literacy Credits at Level 1 and 10 Numeracy Credits at Level 1) OR
Equivalent skills and knowledge OR
On a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Executive Dean
The minimum entry requirement for international students is IELTS General or Academic score of 5.0 with no band score lower than 5 (or equivalent including TOEFL).
Under 20 years of age
For international applicants under 20 years of age who do not hold NCEA, International Academic Qualifications Entry Criteria apply.
