This qualification prepares graduates for employment or freelance operation in the music and related industries or for higher level study.
Graduates will have a range of business, management and event production skills, be able to work effectively in a project based team environment, or as an independent contractor/unsupervised maker.
Graduates will contribute to the cultural, social and economic life of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Satisfactory Completion
To successfully complete and be awarded the Diploma in Music and Event Management students must complete the prescribed programme of study and attain a minimum of 120 credits.
Entry criteria
Successful completion of a national certificate or equivalent qualification at Level 3 or above.
Mature Applicant
At least one year’s practical industry experience.
All applicants need to be able to demonstrate a high level of motivation and desire to success (e.g. through a history of work, industry experience, etc.). Consideration will be given to applicants who have current or recent experience in the music/event industry, are successful MAINZ graduates, or have successfully completed a related programme from another institution.
Applicants may be required to attend an interview.
