Summary

To prepare students for further ESOL or mainstream study destinations so that they can communicate more effectively in the community, in employment and/or in further study options. The structure consists of four modules comprising language skill areas with outcomes prescribed for each skill level: Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing. Students must be at least 16 years of age. Students will be assessed using placement tests to determine that they are at the entry level required for the programme. The placement tests consist of a writing test, a dictation, a grammar test and a one-on-one interview with the tutor to test oral/aural skills. Successful completion of 36 credits as per the training scheme application.
