Summary
This programme is designed to develop your practical skills and understanding of digital photography through a set of exciting projects. Learn how to use a range of digital devices to capture a broad variety of subjects.
Through this programme you will explore a selected range of conceptual and technical processes and use a range of software, hardware and production equipment.
This online course has a project-by-project structure, applicants are graded by their project submissions (three in total). Each project submission (or assignment if you like) consists of one final image showing the abilities and skills learned during the sessions and a written document explaining the deeper theory of photography.

Graduates will have the knowledge and skills to respond to, develop and resolve design solutions in response to project briefs, and present design solutions in an appropriate manner for particular audiences. These fundamental skills are required in a wide range of careers and will provide them confidence and ability for further study to aid you in gaining employment.
These skills will be developed through projects, developmental work, and presentations. Throughout this course you will be required to work through a design process and think critically about potential solutions and client needs to find a workable solution to meet specific scenarios. This process develops a strong research and decision-making process that is founded on both theory and practice.

Academic requirements
Applicants under the age of 20
A minimum of 42 credits at Level 3 or higher on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF), including at least 14 credits at NCEA Level 3 (or equivalent) in each of two subjects, of which at least one relates to English; and at least one is from the subject list below; with a further 14 credits at Level 3 or higher taken from no more than two additional domains on the NQF.

Successful completion of a recognised art/media foundation programme or equivalent, for example the Certificate in Arts and Media.
Applicants aged 20 years or above
No academic qualifications are required.
English language requirements:
All applicants must have a level of English sufficient to be able to study at which they enter the programme/training scheme. Those students whose first language is not English will have:
An International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall Academic Band score of at least 6 (with at least 5.5 in each component), issued within the last two years;
OR
An equivalent qualification.
TOEFL Paper based test (pBT) - Score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE)
TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) - Score of 46 (with a writing score of 20)
