Gain the skills you need to make effective contributions to the Hospitality Industry.

You will develop excellent customer service and sustainable work practices that will be relevant for a wide variety of future work opportunities.

Not only will you learn to make great coffee, but you will gain knowledge of the bar and wine industries.

The programme includes running the Rata Room to give you real world experience in all aspects of cafe work. You will also enjoy other work experiences at different venues through the programme and taste testing your creations.

Career opportunities and pathways

Graduates will be able to use their barista and table service skills in licensed and unlicensed food and beverage outlets. You can also go on to study at level 4 to gain high end restaurant and silver service skills.

English language requirements:

If English is not your first language you may also be required to provide evidence of your English language skills as listed below. If you have no evidence of your English language skills and are a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, contact us for an assessment.

• IELTS 5.5 Academic (no lower than 5.5 in any subtest). For acceptable alternatives refer to the English Proficiency Outcomes Chart.
