To gain a New Zealand Certificate in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) you are required to complete the following four courses.

Any good teacher understands the importance of evaluating their students and then teaching to individual abilities. Learn the strategies to enhance learning for a diverse range of learners and abilities.
Career and study pathways
Graduates of this qualification could go on to secure a role as a workplace educator and trainer or as a tutor. They may also undertake further study towards level 6 and above qualifications in adult and tertiary teaching.

NCEA Level 2
Other Requirements
You must also be working with learners in a post‐secondary environment and must meet the requirements of the Vulnerable Children Act 2014.
Experience
Even if you don’t have the necessary qualifications you may still be approved for entry if you can show you have the literacy and numeracy skills needed for tertiary study through other study, work and/or life experience. Please contact us for more information.
Language
If English is not your first language you may be required to show that your English language skills meet IELTS 6.5 Academic (no lower than 6.5 in any subtest) or English Proficiency Outcomes Chart equivalent.
TOEFL Paper based test (pBT) - Score of 550 (with an essay score of 5 TWE)
TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) - Score of 46 (with a writing score of 20)
University of Cambridge English Examinations - FCE or FCE for schools with a score of 162. No less than 154 in each skill
NZCEL - Level 4 with the Academic endorsement
Pearson Test PG&OHMJTI (Academic) - PToE (Academic) score of 42
City & Guilds IESOL - B2 Communicator with a score of 42
