Programme structure
The programme is structured with two compulsory core courses (30 credits), and a further 90 credits in elective courses.

On completion of the programme, graduates are eligible to apply to the NZBDP for certification as a Clinical Physiologist (Renal).

Entry criteria
Entry is open to degree graduates. However, subject to the regulations of the award, those who have been able to demonstrate equivalent practical, professional or educational experience of an appropriate kind may be granted admission.
Applicants must meet the following entry requirements for dialysis specialisation:
Hold a Bachelors degree or equivalent
OR
Have a relevant professional qualification or experience approved by the Dean or their representative, to demonstrate ability to study at level 7
AND
Have completed a minimum of 30 credits study at level 5 in Bioscience and Anatomy and Physiology
AND
Have English competence to undertake this programme which is taught and assessed in English. Any applicants whose first language is not English may be required to provide evidence of an overall IELTS (Academic) band score of 6.5 (with no score below 6.5) or equivalent
AND
Provide a completed medical declaration and/or evidence of a current health certificate from a registered health practitioner, indicating ability to practice safely and to be physically capable of meeting the practical aspects of the programme.
Each applicant will be required to declare all criminal convictions and pending convictions, and submit a New Zealand Police Consent to Disclosure of Information form with their application. This will be sent to the Police Licensing and Vetting Service if the applicant is accepted into the programme and is returned in confidence to the Dean of Faculty.
Provide two testimonials and/or character references attesting to candidate's suitability for working in Health Care
Provide a confidential report from the institution where a candidate is applying to transfer from another institution.
