In the Bachelor of International Hospitality Management you learn to manage food and beverage, and accommodation operations and develop key skills in human resource management, strategic management, and sales and marketing. Your final year includes valuable workplace experience, working with an organisation on a project related to your studies.

If you’re interested in working in the food and beverage sector of the industry and helping to create memorable experiences, the Food and Beverage major is a great starting point.

Think of any event, holiday or great hospitality experience and at its centre you’ll find great food and fine wine – or your beverage of choice. This major covers international food and beverage management, gastronomy, service management, sales and marketing, and financial management.

Entry criteria

Applicants must be 18 years old and have obtained a qualification equivalent to New Zealand year 13.

Preferred New Zealand school subjects: All subjects are useful, in particular language rich subjects from AUT’s subject list

English Language requirements:

Minimum IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0 overall with all bands 5.5 or higher; TOEFL iBT score of 80; Computer-based: Total score of 213 with a minimum essay rating of 4.0; Certificate in English for Academic Study (CertEAS) with B/B+ grade; GIE with B grade; CAE minimum overall score of 169; PTE minimum overall score of 50.
