Summary

A Master of Philosophy in Faculty of Culture and Society is a one-year degree that allows graduates to expand their research capabilities by focusing on a particular area of interest.

Structure and content

The MPhil is a one year research only degree. It provides an opportunity for interdisciplinary research of an applied or professional nature.

The degree allows a student to complete a one year research project and thesis, and may provide a pathway to doctoral studies.

Entry criteria

Must have completed one of the following with the equivalent of a B grade average or higher:

• Four-year bachelor's degree OR
• Bachelor's honours degree OR
• Bachelor's degree and postgraduate diploma OR
• Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience relevant to the proposed research.

English Language requirements:

Minimum IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 overall with all bands 6.0 or higher; TOEFL iBT score of 90; Certificate in English for Academic Study (CertEAS) with A grade; GIE with B+ grade; CAE minimum overall score of 176; PTE minimum overall score of 58.
