The Digital Media pathway in the Postgraduate Diploma in Communication Studies allows you to develop specific professional and vocational skills across a wide range of applications and platforms. It is particularly suited to students with a background in digital media who want to extend their professional practice to take advantage of emerging and dynamic links between digital and visual communication, animation, moving image, digital video, web and interactive areas.

Structure

From investigative journalism to screenwriting and from digital media to public relations this qualification provides you with a one year intensive postgraduate qualification that covers the communications field.

On completing the Postgraduate Diploma in Communication Studies, you can elect to continue your studies with the Master of Communication Studies

Most papers last one semester and are worth 15 points. Students must complete 120 points in total. It is recommended that students who plan to proceed to the Master's degree after successfully completing the Postgraduate Diploma include a relevant Research Methods paper in their programme of study.

Entry criteria

Applicant must have completed: the Bachelor of Communication Studies or equivalent or a relevant professional qualification or professional experience approved by the dean (or representative) to be equivalent to a bachelor’s degree.

English Language requirements:

Minimum IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 overall with all bands 6.0 or higher; TOEFL iBT score of 90; Certificate in English for Academic Study (CertEAS) with A grade; GIE with B+ grade; CAE minimum overall score of 176; PTE minimum overall score of 58.
