Summary
Psychology studies how people, and sometimes animals, think, feel and behave.
In Psychology you will study the brain and how it works. You will investigate personality, intelligence, how people respond to everyday and unusual events, and why some people suffer from mental health disorders.

Study opportunities include: applied behaviour analysis; clinical psychology; cognitive neuroscience; detection theory and psychophysics; developmental psychology; ergonomics; evolutionary psychology; experimental analysis of behaviour; gender and critical psychology; health psychology; industrial and organizational psychology; social psychology.
Psychology and your career
A qualification in Psychology can lead to careers in mental health, research, industry and marketing, education or counseling. Many areas require skills in assessment and testing and you can acquire these from specialised postgraduate programmes.

Entry criteria
A BA with a major in Psychology including PSYCH 306. You must have an average grade of B or higher in 45 points above Stage II in the major.
