BE(Hons) in Engineering Science
Engineering Science is great for people who like math’s and computing, who want to do something with practical applications, and have flexibility both while they're studying and afterwards in the course of their careers.
The Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering Science is a four-year degree with sub-specializations in Operations Research and Continuum Mechanics. Class sizes are small and students work closely with enthusiastic lecturers who are actively involved in the practice of engineering science. Classes are encouraged to develop a "team spirit" and to work together to enhance their learning. The teaching is mostly project based and practical.
Part I (first year) is common to all engineering specializations.
Part II (second year) lays the foundations of engineering science with courses in mathematical modelling, electronics, mechanics, materials, operations research, and computer programming.
Parts III and IV (years 3 and 4) are more specialized. You will be able to choose a number of courses in areas that interest you most. Using the knowledge and skills you have gained, you will also carry out your own research project based on problems relevant to industry.
