Gain the knowledge and skills to enter the property profession in New Zealand or internationally with this specialist undergraduate degree.
Programme overview
A BProp degree prepares you for a career in the property industry. This programme will equip you with the skills in communication, data and information analysis, marketing and research – all in the context of the property sector.
Programme structure
A BProp requires you to complete 24 courses (360 points). It is a three-year degree programme.
In your first year of study you will complete seven compulsory core business courses, which will become the building blocks for your degree.
The second and third years comprise more specialized property courses, including valuation, finance and investment, economics, law, land use planning and controls, marketing, management, and building construction.
In your final year you will continue to develop your knowledge in the major areas of property and demonstrate your learning in an applied property project.

The BProp fulfils the academic requirements for membership of the Valuers Registration Board, Property Institute of New Zealand, Real Estate Institute of New Zealand, and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Entry criteria
Secondary school qualifications
You need to have one of the following:
International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum total score of 24.
General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level. You must have completed a minimum of three A-Level subjects with at least a 'C' grade or higher. General Studies or similar general papers cannot be included.
GCE ‘A’ Level requirements apply to ‘A’ Level qualifications examined by bodies such as AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC, CCEA, Pearson Education Limited and CIE taken outside of New Zealand.
English language requirements:
IELTS 6.0; TOEFL (iBT) 80; TOEFL (paper-based) 550; CAE or CPE 169; PTE 50; MELAB 80.
