Summary
Develop advanced leadership, research, innovation and professional skills across community, government, not-for-profit and social-good sectors.
Programme overview
This certificate is offered as a qualification to develop advanced skills in social and community leadership and practice, and build your ability to lead and innovate across community, government, not-for-profit and social-good sectors.
If you complete this certificate with a GPA of 5.0 or higher, you can credit the courses passed to the Master of Social and Community Leadership degree, provided that the postgraduate certificate has not been awarded.
Programme structure
Take two 15-point core courses in social and community leadership and leading social innovation, and a 30-point elective course (or two 15-point courses) to complete this 60-point certificate.
You can choose from elective courses across the University in a wide range of topics including policy appraisal and development, community and environmental psychology, programme evaluation, human service management, family counselling, youth development, social justice, health and wellbeing, and managing and developing people.

Entry criteria
You must have completed an undergraduate degree at a recognised university (or similar institution) with at least 60 points (at least 15-20% of your degree) in social science subjects.
Alternatively, you must have completed an undergraduate degree in a related field (such as human services, social work or other social practice) at a recognised university (or similar institution) and have at least two years’ experience in community, government, not-for-profit or social-good sectors.
English language requirements:
IELTS 6.5; TOEFL (iBT) 90; TOEFL (paper-based) 575; CAE or CPE 176; PTE 58; MELAB 85.
