Summary

Look up to the sky and study Meteorology - the science of weather. You’ll use maths and physics to understand natural forces and explore the Earth’s atmosphere. Your research will include physical and satellite meteorology, mid-latitude weather systems and will even look at how humanity is influencing climate change.

Course Structure

For this degree you'll need to:

Complete at least 360 points, of which:

• At least 270 points must be from courses listed for the BSc
• At least 210 points must be from 200 and 300-level courses, including:
• At least 150 points must be from courses listed for the BSc
• At least 75 points must be from 300-level courses listed for the BSc

Courses listed for other degrees may be counted as being BSc courses, including:

• A maximum of 30 points if taken to satisfy a BSc major
• A maximum of 30 points if taken to satisfy a second major from another first degree at this university
• A maximum of 60 points across both these categories
• Complete one course in MATH, PHYS, QUAN, STAT (or an approved equivalent) at any level
• Complete one approved course that demonstrates competency in oral and written communications

• Algebra (MATH 151)
• Physics 1A (PHYS 114)
• Physics 1B (PHYS 115)
• Four course at 200 level:
• Either Multivariable Calculus (MATH 243) or Modelling with Differential Equations (MATH 244)
• Linear Algebra (MATH 251)
• Physics of the Earth and Planets (PHYS 209)
• Classical Physics (PHYS 223)

Four courses at 300 level:

• Applied Mathematics II (MATH 322)
• Mathematics for Earth Sciences (MATH 323)

Two further courses from:

• MATH 300-399
• OPRE 300-399
• PHYS 300-399

Entry criteria

To be accepted into this degree you need:

• Achievement of the International Baccalaureate Diploma
• Successful completion of the All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSC) with an average of 75 per cent or higher overall
• Successful completion of the India School Certificate (ISC) with an average of 75 per cent or higher overall

Other English Language requirements:

• IELTS: minimum overall score of 6.0 with no sub-score below 5.5
• TOEFL: minimum overall score of 80 (internet-based test)
• Pearson Test of English: minimum score of 58 (with a 'Communicative score' of not less than 50)
• EPP: minimum final scores of 4,4,4,3
• A grade of 65% or higher in English in the AISSC or ISC.
