Summary

The 60 point Postgraduate Certificate in Education is nested within the 180 point Master of Education which can be completed entirely by coursework or by a combination of coursework plus a thesis or dissertation. Students are encouraged to consider enrolling in the MEd but can choose to enrol in the Postgraduate Certificate as a first step into postgraduate study.

Entry criteria

To be accepted into this programme you'll need:

• A Bachelor's degree with a major in Education, Psychology or a related discipline, or an approved teacher education degree, or a Bachelor's degree and a Diploma of Teaching from an approved institute for teacher education, with an average grade of B or above
• To be accepted by the associate dean (students) as being capable of proceeding with the proposed course of study

Other English Language requirements:

• IELTS: minimum overall score of 6.5 with no sub-score below 6.0
• TOEFL: minimum score of 90 for the internet-based test with a minimum of 20 in writing
• Pearson Test of English: minimum score of 65 (with a ‘Communicative’ score of not less than 58)
• EPP: minimum final scores of 4,4,5,5
