Summary
The Master of Applied Finance and Economics is a joint master's degree in Finance and Economics that can be completed full-time in 12-13 months. Students take two semesters of advanced coursework in both subjects, followed by a practical applications course from November-February.

To qualify for the award of Master of Applied Finance and Economics a student must satisfactorily pass:
FIEC675 Advanced Applications in Finance and Economics and
35 additional points selected from:
60 points from ECON 601-669, including at least 30 points from ECON 620-669
60 points from FINC 601-669, including at least 30 points from FINC 620-669
FIEC 601 or, at the discretion of the Head of Department of Economics and Finance, an additional 15 points from ECON 601-669 or FINC 601-669

Entry criteria
Candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree that includes intermediate microeconomics, introductory business finance, a calculus-based mathematics course and an introductory statistics course and be approved for the degree by the Dean of Commerce.
Other English language requirements: TOEFL PBT with a minimum score of 575 and TWE with a minimum score of 4.5; CCEL EAP Level 2 with a minimum B+ grade; CAE or CPE score of 176 with a minimum of 169 in reading, writing, listening and speaking; Pearson Test of English (Academic) - PTE with an overall score of 64 and no PTE communicative skills score below 58.
