    Summary

    The Master of Business Management (MBM) is a generalist taught master's qualification that extensively develops the skills necessary for strategic business management within a global economy. The MBM will guide students through an understanding of business management structures and commercial practices, laying the foundation to understand, respond to, and lead change.

    As part of the Executive Development Programmes at UC, this qualification enables you to increase your employability by gaining business skills that complement your existing professional or academic background. Candidates with a degree from any discipline may apply and no prior experience in Commerce is required.

    UC's School of Business and Economics is placed in the top five percent of business schools worldwide, through its accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

    The Master of Business Management graduate

    • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and understanding of frameworks and industry practice within the fields of business and management.
    • Plans and carries out independent research that demonstrates critical awareness of issues and challenges in the fields of business and management.
    • Synthesises academic and professional information and effectively communicates findings to a range of audiences in a range of ways.
    • Has increased career options and commercial insight, given the skills and expertise gained across multiple core business functions.

    A total of 10 courses must be completed to obtain the Master of Business Management. The MBM is a 180-point qualification which can be completed in 12-15 months of full-time study. The degree can be taken part-time over a maximum of four years.

    Career opportunities

    The qualification exposes students to intellectual breadth across a large number of organisational functions which prepares graduates for entry-level commercial roles within the public and private sector. The MBM aims to produce diverse, market-relevant, and highly skilled managers who will make an impact on business at a local and global level.

    Entry criteria

    A degree with at least a B grade average in 300-level courses is required. Candidates must be approved by the Dean of Commerce who will take account of the relevance and standard of previous studies and experience.

    Other English language requirements: TOEFL PBT with a minimum score of 575 and TWE with a minimum score of 4.5; CCEL EAP Level 2 with a minimum B+ grade; CAE or CPE score of 176 with a minimum of 169 in reading, writing, listening and speaking; Pearson Test of English (Academic) - PTE with an overall score of 64 and no PTE communicative skills score below 58.
