Summary

The diploma will take a student from pre-degree, through to entry into the second year of a bachelor's degree. This programme offers you supported study, whether you come to Lincoln with University Entrance or have just missed out. Depending on your entry qualifications you can complete the Diploma in University Studies in two or three semesters. During the Diploma you will develop your academic communication, study and research skills, plus study a range of other courses selected from the bachelor's programmes at Lincoln University - and the bachelor's core course, Land, People and Economies, which explores the context of all land-based study.

Summary of Regulations:
All of the following:
• Pass the Academic Communication and Study Skills course
• Pass two pre-degree courses chosen from a list of elective courses
• Pass one approved degree level course (15 credits) at the 100 level
Then:
• Pass eight approved degree level courses (120 credits) at the 100 level

Entry criteria

Applicants must meet one of the following:

• 32 NCEA credits at Level 3 or higher (including 20 credits over two approved subjects with a minimum of 10 credits in each subject, plus UE literacy and numeracy.
• A Lincoln First Level 4 programme
• A Lincoln First Level 3 programme with high achievement
• Other pathways.

They should also have obtained an overall CAE or FCE score of 162, with reading and writing not less than 162 and speaking and listening not less than 154; PTE of 42 overall score - with minimum 42 for reading and writing and no other communicative skill less than 36; Lincoln University English Language of LU EL 60%; NZCEL of Level 4 (General, Workplace or Academic Endorsement).
