This Level 5 programme is aimed at qualified carpenters who are working on commercial or medium builds and want to move to a role overseeing the build as a site manager, project or contract manager.

Programme structure
Concrete Construction methods and weatherproofing systems: Apply a broad range of technical theoretical and operational knowledge of current building and construction practices as they apply to the construction of medium buildings in a supervisory role
Supervision of sub-trades for a medium build: Supervise workers and subcontractors through effective communication, professionalism and planning to the completion of their portion of a medium building construction project to the required safety, technical, quality and productivity standards expected in a commercial environment
Non-structural exterior and ceiling wall systems: Supervise workers and subcontractors through effective communication, professionalism and planning to the completion of their portion of a medium building construction project to the required safety, technical, quality and productivity standards expected in a commercial environment
Building Construction methods and order lists: Apply a broad range of technical theoretical and operational knowledge of current building and construction practices as they apply to the construction of medium buildings in a supervisory role
Further training or study

Entry criteria
General
It is expected that applicants will have existing knowledge and skills in the trade that they will be supervising.
Applicants will either have the New Zealand Certificate in Construction Related Trades (Supervisor) Level 4 or equivalent.

Relevant current industry experience to be supported by a validated portfolio of industry experience
Applicants will be working in a medium build or commercial environment.
