Grab your opportunity to gain skills and knowledge for further study or your future career in sport and recreation, or health sciences with this one-semester certificate.
The Certificate in Sport and Recreation is for Year 13 students who didn’t get UE at school and want to staircase into the Bachelor of Sport and Recreation or prepare themselves for further study in a health sciences degree.
This certificate can prepare you for further study in:
Sport and recreation (offered at the North or South Campus)
Health sciences (only offered at the South Campus)
Sport and recreation papers:
You build your academic writing, communication, computer literacy and time management skills, and develop an understanding of coaching, goal setting and teamwork. You can study the sport and recreation papers at the North or South Campus, starting in February or July.

Our new health foundation certificate will help you learn the essentials to start your study towards a career in health. You learn about basic human development and focus on your own professional development.
Taught at AUT South Campus, this foundation certificate offers an exciting introduction to the start of your future in health sciences. It runs from 14 May to 22 June 2018.

Entry criteria
Completion of Year 13
Other entry requirements:
Must be capable of meeting the Vulnerable Children’s Act (VCA Act) requirements, including police clearance
English Language requirements:
Minimum IELTS (Academic) score of 5.5 overall with all bands 5.0 or higher; TOEFL iBT score of 70; Computer-based: Total score of 133 with minimum essay writing of 3.5; Certificate in English for Academic Study (CertEAS) with C/C+ grade; GIE with C+ grade; CAE minimum overall score of 162; PTE minimum overall score of 42.
