Programme overview
The Master of Engineering Studies in Engineering Science provides graduates with a solid foundation of technical skills in the areas of Continuum Mechanics, Signal Processing, Energy and Geothermal Engineering, Operations Research and Biomedical Engineering.
This programme will give you the opportunity to enhance your knowledge in a specialised area of engineering. You will expand on your undergraduate studies and learn from subject matter experts, many of whom are recognised leaders in their fields. It will require you to complete research projects, which will give you the opportunity to study a chosen topic more closely, and use your acquired knowledge to solve complex engineering problems.

Up to 30 points from appropriate 600 and 700 level courses offered at this University, subject to approval by the Head of Department
Option B - 180 points
Complete the University of Auckland online Academic Integrity course.
At least 45 points, but no more than 60 points, from ENGSCI 787–789, 795
Up to 135 points from ENGSCI 711, 712, 721, 740–742, 745, 753, 760–763, 765, 766, 768, 769, 772, GEOTHERM 785

Career opportunities
A graduate from the programme will have substantially increased understanding of project and programme management in construction; funding and procurement processes in New Zealand and worldwide; engineering risk management and cost engineering of the construction process.
Graduates will be provided with the knowledge and skills to equip them for a career as a construction manager within the New Zealand and international construction industries.
