Summary

This certificate allows you to complete postgraduate taught courses in a diverse range of subjects that are related to health sciences.

It offers a broad range of subjects that will cater for all interests, allowing a generic personalised programme of study.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences (PGCertHSc) programme specialising in Women's Health, is a new specialisation aimed at nurses, doctors, midwives and radiographers seeking to advance their knowledge and skills. Students who complete this programme will be able to provide health care advice to women in all areas of reproductive health and wellbeing. Depending on the graduate’s professional scope of practice completion of this qualification will assist the practitioner in prescribing treatment in this area.

This specialisation is offered by the School of Medicine. Courses in this specialisation are offered in a Flexible or distance learning format.

Students are required to enrol in, and complete at least 45 points from the following courses:

OBSTGYN 712 - Contraception and pre and Early Pregnancy (15 Points)
OBSTGYN 713 - Pregnancy and Postnatal Care in the Community (15 Points)
OBSTGYN 715 - Medical Gynaecology 1 (15 Points)
OBSTGYN 716 - Medical Gynaecology 2 (15 Points)

and up to 15 points from:

OBSTGYN 724 - Obstetrics Residential (15 Points)
OBSTGYN 725 - Gynaecology Residential (15 Points)

Entry criteria

You must have completed an undergraduate degree at a recognised university (or similar institution) in a health-related discipline such as health sciences, medicine, nursing, optometry, pharmacy, psychology, or social work.

IELTS 6.5; TOEFL (iBT) 90; TOEFL (paper-based) 575; CAE or CPE 176; PTE 58; MELAB 85.
