Summary
Are you a professional working in an Iwi, 毛利 organisation, or another body that works with 毛利 communities, looking to progress into leadership? Would you like to take on a position of influence within the growing 毛利 economy, currently valued at $40 billion in New Zealand? Do you have a passion for furthering the aspirations of 毛利 and indigenous communities?
This new postgraduate certificate aims to engage participants in critical analysis of models of indigenous development at an advanced level, preparing students for further study in the area of 毛利 and Indigenous Leadership.
Features of the Postgraduate Certificate in 毛利 and Indigenous Leadership
Developed in response to growing market demand for managers, governors and other leaders within all spheres of the '毛利 sector'.
Students will gain an academic understanding of the organizational needs of the 毛利 sector and indigenous models of development in New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the United States.
Delivered through a culturally appropriate blended learning model.
Our staff in Aotahi: School of 毛利 and Indigenous Studies operate as a whānau and we pride ourselves on being accessible, supportive and engaged with a number of research kaupapa that focus on the advancement of 毛利 development and knowledge.
Qualification structure and duration
The PGCertMIL programme comprises 60 points. This qualification can only be studied part-time and must be completed within one year from first enrolment. Students start their studies in February (Semester 1).
Further study
Successful students of this pathway, can progress into the Master of Maori and Indigenous Leadership, so long as they have not graduated with the postgraduate certificate.

Entry criteria
Postgraduate certificates and diplomas require a relevant bachelor's degree. If you gained your qualifications overseas, these will need to be assessed to ensure they are of an equivalent standard.

Other English language requirements: TOEFL PBT with a minimum score of 575 and TWE with a minimum score of 4.5; CCEL EAP Level 2 with a minimum B+ grade; CAE or CPE score of 176 with a minimum of 169 in reading, writing, listening and speaking; Pearson Test of English (Academic) - PTE with an overall score of 64 and no PTE communicative skills score below 58.
