Summary
For all current health professionals and those with a relevant undergraduate degree wishing to pursue postgraduate study in a health-related field.
This programme covers a broad range of subjects that will cater for all interests, allowing a generic personalised programme of study.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences (PGDipHSc) in Alcohol and Drug Studies is intended for those working professionally in alcohol and drug or mental health settings, and restricted to such students because of the practice-based course POPLPRAC 708. However, a number of courses in this subject area are available to students taking a generic health sciences programme.
Alcohol and Drug Studies postgraduate study is available for those working professionally in alcohol and drug or mental health settings, and also for other interested professionals who wish to broaden their knowledge base of drug and alcohol issues in the community.

Graduates with relevant degrees and health professionals will gain an advanced level of understanding of the nature of addiction and co-existing disorders and current principles of management of alcohol, drug and other addictive problems, such as gambling.

Entry criteria
You must have completed an undergraduate degree at a recognised university (or similar institution) in a health-related discipline such as health sciences, medicine, nursing, optometry, pharmacy, psychology, or social work. You will need a Grade Point Average (GPA) or Grade Point Equivalent (GPE) of at least 2.5.
